De La Mesa
|Greg Braun & Betty Bruner - April 2020|
Please welcome Greg Braun and Betty Brunner to the neighborhood! They purchased 736 Hernandez in April from Mac and Susan Lang. They intend to be here about seven months out of the year, while spending the rest of their time in Grafton, Wisconsin.
Betty spent her entire career as a registered nurse. She was the VP of Operations for a senior care company in Chicago, overseeing 39 nursing homes with 5000 patients. She retired from that job, but still does consulting work in the senior care industry. That also includes some teaching in New York. She was previously very involved with the Make A Wish Foundation and Special Olympics. When she returns in the fall, she intends to pick up some of that volunteer work here. She enjoys golf and Hand and Foot. They will be heading north soon, but will be looking forward to joining the DLM Tuesday card group when they return. She has three children and six grandchildren with the newest being born on May 8 th !
Greg spent most of his career as a middle school teacher of language arts and social studies. He played golf in college, and that has continued to be his life’s passion. He and a partner built a Cayman Ball golf course, modeled for use with a specific ball that Jack Nicklaus had developed. He later opened his own golf store in Milwaukee called “Fairways and Greens”. He also sold artificial turf for golf courses. After that, he worked in marketing for construction companies before his full retirement. I’m sure you can guess by now that Greg’s favorite hobby is golf! And he’s a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers!
Together, Greg and Betty were organizers for a golf outing to benefit brain cancer research for the University of Wisconsin/Madison Cancer center.
They look forward to attending our social events and getting to know the neighbors!
